Recently, a news article highlighted Elvis Week in Memphis, TN. Each August, people come from all over the world to celebrate and remember the life of Elvis Presley. You may be wondering why a dental office would be writing about the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll; however, Elvis, and many other world-famous performers, have been patients of Dr. Gubler and sons!
Dr. Kay N. Gubler, father of Trent Gubler, Lifetime Dental’s founder, and owner, moved to Las Vegas in high school back in the 1950’s. Back then, the area was in need of more healthcare professionals, and Kay decided to become a dentist. After graduating from dental school in Cleveland, Ohio, Kay and his wife returned to Las Vegas and started a dental practice, where many performers and musicians came to his office. Not only did he have his own private practice, but he contracted as an emergency dentist for MGM.
Back then, there was no HIPPA of course, and Dr. Gubler openly shared how Elvis had broken a front tooth when he knocked it with a microphone while performing. Elvis liked Kay so much that he asked his bodyguard to take off the watch he had given him and give it to Kay—Elvis said he would get him another one! Another time, Elvis needed a crown and decided to come back to Gubler Dental.
The love of dentistry continues, and four sons also became dentists. Dr. Trent Gubler practiced at his father’s office for eight years, having his own incredible journey of working on billboard entertainers’ teeth, runway models, famous performers’ and athletes’ smiles. Looking back, Kay did not get “All Shook Up” over these emergency visits with Elvis – it was his love of excellence in dentistry and his love of people that made Dr. Kay N. Gubler such a beloved dentist. It is that legacy of dentistry and excellent service that the Gubler boys inherited. For Dr. Trent, it’s a tradition of world-class care, where everyone who steps inside the Lifetime Dental office feels like a celebrity and is given the best dental care so they can smile on their own billboard!
